Building Your Brand & Protecting Your Rights

This presentation will include:

  • Building your brand and protecting your rights.
  • Understanding different types of trademarks and levels of protection
  • Impact/considerations of trademarks for corporate clients
The J Bar is located just inside the main entrance of the Embassy Suites off K-10 Highway and Ridgeview Rd.  It conveniently located 9 minutes from Corporate Woods and only 20 minutes from Downtown Kansas City or Lawrence.

Who Should Attend:  This presentation will be extremely relevant for intellectual property, business law, and corporate paralegals.  It's also a great way to learn about a new area of law for other paralegals and paralegal students.

About our speaker, C. Blair Barbieri.

Blair is an attorney with Hovey Williams, LLP.  Blair’s areas of practice include intellectual property litigation, trademark prosecution, contractual matters related to intellectual property assets, and the general enforcement and defense of clients' intellectual property rights. She has enjoyed working with the litigation department at Hovey Williams since 2015, assisting with all aspects of litigation in our nation's federal courts and local state courts. She has also gained extensive experience with legal proceedings brought before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Dinner menu - Grapevine Smoked Chicken, Potato Gratin, Red Wine Jus served with house salad, warm rolls & butter, and berry and fresh mint cheesecake.  Coffee, water, and iced tea included.  Cash bar available.  Please email if you would like a vegetarian option.  

CLE credit: Approved for 1 NALA continuing education credit 

This meeting and CLE is open to all HPA members, and non-member paralegals, legal assistants, paralegal students, and other legal support staff.  You can even register your attorney!  Reservations are due no later than 4:00 p.m. on the Thursday immediately preceding the event.  If you need to cancel a reservation, please do so before this deadline.
