Volunteer Event - My Father's House

Registration

  • My Father's House collects, prepares, and distributes furnishings and home essentials to those in need through a partnership with secular and non-secular social service organizations who provide social service case management to eligible families and individuals, and refer them to My Father's House. Referrals to My Father's House include those transitioning out of homelessness, children in and those teens aging out of the foster care system, domestic abuse victims, veterans, disaster victims, and those coming out of incarceration.

    Some of the activities you may be able to choose from include:

    •Assisting participants with furnishing selections.

    •Sort and shelve small household donations.

    •Assist with furniture loading.

    •Assist the parking lot coordinator in greeting guests.

    •Man the hospitality room to make guests feel welcome and comfortable while waiting their appointment time, serving provided beverages and treats.

There will be an upcoming volunteer opportunity at My Father’s House on March 11, 2017 from 9-12.  HPA volunteered in 2016 at My Father’s house, and it was a fun and rewarding experience.  Please contact Andrea Fogarty at andreak22@outlook.com if you are interested in volunteering for this event.
